The final sketch! I’ll post my thoughts about this year’s personal challenge tomorrow.
Onward!
This was a small idea about waiting for the other shoe to fall–something I’m too often guilty of–instead of getting on with whatever there is to get on with. Then the visual of shoes falling kinda took over.
Skipping ahead a day on the #Storystorm list. ONE OF THESE DAYS, I’ll come up with a viable picture book idea for chairs!
Alone in the woods.
There was a quote on Twitter at the end of January about “getting back to my trees.” I think the sense of it was finding peace–at any rate, that’s how it struck me.
If you are not allowed a pet, any beloved object is an acceptable stand-in. The flowered China Cat is a great comfort.
This #Storystorm idea was very dark and too emotional to toss off on a quick sketch, so I’m substituting a small character sketch I did on Day 19, for another WIP.
This is a character I’ve been thinking about for some time–not sure I have her yet. Nothing to do with today’s #Storystorm idea, but a better use of my time!
This is a “Girl Who Cried Monster” story. Didn’t you HATE no one believing you as a child?!? (Pair with Day 13?)
This #Storystorm idea is based on memories of my father showing me how animation works. When I was around four, he made me a little flip book: it was a stick figure of a man in a bowler hat kicking a football–as he kicked, his hat fell off his head backwards, and the ball went spiraling off in the other direction. Today, I thought I would try to make a 3D character out of the little stick figure, but this little guy showed up instead!
This is a “new member of the family” story, based on my sweet grand-dog Mabel and her relationship with three cat siblings. Mabel wants to play, and the cats aren’t having it.
