The final sketch! I’ll post my thoughts about this year’s personal challenge tomorrow.
Onward!
This was a small idea about waiting for the other shoe to fall–something I’m too often guilty of–instead of getting on with whatever there is to get on with. Then the visual of shoes falling kinda took over.
Skipping ahead a day on the #Storystorm list. ONE OF THESE DAYS, I’ll come up with a viable picture book idea for chairs!
Alone in the woods.
There was a quote on Twitter at the end of January about “getting back to my trees.” I think the sense of it was finding peace–at any rate, that’s how it struck me.
This was a silly dream my daughter told me about–a cat with a huge handlebar mustache and a Scottish vibe. Fun to draw, but have not thought beyond the visual to see if there’s a story.
On the other hand–there are probably pipes involved . . . and mice.
If you are not allowed a pet, any beloved object is an acceptable stand-in. The flowered China Cat is a great comfort.
This idea started with a nightmare I head as a child about a dinosaur stepping right through the roof of my house. I was thinking about difference in scale after yesterday’s post, so I thought I’d make *this* dinosaur small enough to be a pet on a leash–and not going about stepping on people’s houses.
This #Storystorm idea was very dark and too emotional to toss off on a quick sketch, so I’m substituting a small character sketch I did on Day 19, for another WIP.
This #Storystorm went from “head gear,” which I thought (and still do think) would make a cute graphic board book, to an outrageous hat with feathers (resulting in a bad sketch I will call “practice”); to chickens wearing hats; to one very large chicken, possibly due to watching a Roadrunner cartoon where a very tiny Coyote finally caught the normal-sized, and thus, giant Roadrunner. I might go back to the chickens wearing hats, but for now, this is all I’ve got.
This is a character I’ve been thinking about for some time–not sure I have her yet. Nothing to do with today’s #Storystorm idea, but a better use of my time!
