Ha! It’s funny…many years ago (decades) I wrote a picture book that became what could be a chapter book, morphed into a middle grade and is now definitely (young) YA! lol…of course, I have NO time to write them since it’s a very complex series that, to write, requires a LOT of research, more world building, fleshing out characters and just doing ALL the outlining. It requires plotting in detail, but the actual writing I’ll pants—IF and when I get to them lol Have fun with it!
And same to you–that sounds like a fascinating project!!
